 The Greenville County Golf Association was founded in 1967, and is responsible for carrying out major championship amatuer events in Greenville County, inlcuding the County Amateur, held the last week of July, the Piedmont Classic, a two man team event each spring, the County Junior Championships each summer, and the Mid-Am & Senior Championships, held each August. The 2010 Greenville County Amateur will be held at Green Valley Country Club July 23-25, 2010. This will mark the first time the club has host the County Championship. The course has hosted numerous SCGA championships and USGA qualifying events and will provide an exciting venue for the Upstate's best amateur players.
